A legacy of Hungarian history education

History was taught at the university since its founding in 1872.  It was later named after Franz Joseph, and was the second university of the age of Hungarian dualism. Then later from 1945, at Bolyai University, later at Babeş-Bolyai University the education of the history in Hungarian was again offered. During this period great teachers like Lajos Szádeczky, Sándor Márki, Géza Entz, Gyula László, Zsigmond Jakó, István Imreh and others taught here.
